Caution remains the order of the day

Despite temporary setbacks, the major stock market indices are continuing to rise and are trading close to their record highs. Concerns about a possible economic slowdown due to US trade policy have long since faded. Geopolitical tensions and wars no longer seem to be causing investors much concern.  Although the majority of listed companies are able to increase their profits, a large part of the price gains is due to an increase in valuation. Should earnings growth fail to accelerate significantly in the near future, there is a risk of a price correction. Caution remains our order of the day.
